David Winzer

Social Entrepreneur

I’ve always been fascinated by human nature and social systems, particularly business and government systems. Social Entrepreneurship is the best of both worlds – fast and agile like business, but motivated by profit in equal measure with the public good.

I’m currently in my first year of Sustainable Innovation at Medicine Hat College, but before this I spent several years developing marketing and operational plans for small business.

Following Covid and a series of family challenges, I spent some time living on the street. This gave me a radical new perspective on how our economy really works, and newfound empathy for those in need.

I’m now engaged in building food and housing supports for lower-income families and the underhoused.
